Job summary

W Talent Finance is partnering with a well-established professional services firm to appoint an Audit Director based in Sheffield. You will lead the audit and assurance practice, shaping strategy, delivering high-quality audits, and overseeing senior client relationships across diverse sectors.

You will work closely with the leadership team to drive growth, develop talent, and ensure compliance with UK accounting and auditing standards, while mentoring managers and senior staff.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified with significant experience in UK accountancy practice.
• Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
• Experience managing complex audit portfolios and senior client relationships.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across the audit and assurance function.
• Lead the growth and development of the audit service line.
• Manage and develop a portfolio of key audit clients across a range of sectors.
• Maintain strong relationships with business owners, directors and senior stakeholders.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality audit assignments in line with professional standards.
• Support business development activities, including tenders and new client opportunities.
• Mentor and develop managers and senior managers.
• Drive improvements in audit quality and operational performance.
• Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning and future growth.
