The Role: Senior Associate, Regulatory Compliance

This key role supports the Head of Regulation and Compliance (“RC”) of Gemini UK, focusing on implementing and managing regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include managing compliance risk assessments and executing various compliance monitoring workstreams under supervision.

The individual must stay updated on regulatory changes affecting crypto assets and e-money regimes to facilitate timely communication within the business. This role reports directly to the Head of Regulation and Compliance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Advise and guide the business on regulatory compliance matters, sharing best practices and expectations.
  2. Assist in preparing documents for FCA supervisory requests.
  3. Gather information for compliance reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  4. Identify, evaluate, monitor, and mitigate compliance risks following Gemini’s CRA and CMP.
  5. Review and support the annual training schedule and delivery of compliance training.
  6. Prepare training materials in collaboration with the Head of RC.
  7. Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures regularly.
  8. Identify compliance vulnerabilities and develop corrective action plans.
  9. Assess regulatory developments and advise on actions to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  10. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure internal risk controls are effective and emerging risks are managed.
  11. Implement recommendations from audits and regulators promptly.
  12. Build and maintain professional relationships across Gemini Group.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7+ years in financial services, especially in a compliance leadership role.
  • Experience in regulatory consultancy or in-house compliance within payments/e-money sectors.
  • Operational knowledge of compliance programs and UK regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Regulatory compliance qualifications such as CISI or ICA diploma.
