Job summary

DWF is seeking an experienced Solicitor or Associate to join the Major Injury & Casualty team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a senior Partner on high-value, complex matters and gain exposure to EL/PL and Motor claims.

The role operates a hybrid working model, balancing home and office work with collaboration and team support, and provides a pathway to develop technical and commercial expertise within a leading global law firm.

Qualifications

• Experience managing your own or assisting with a litigated caseload of defender personal injury matters
• Background in EL/PL and Motor claims
• Insurance litigation experience (essential)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Confident communicator with solid negotiation ability

Responsibilities

• Managing and progressing a caseload efficiently and proactively
• Handling litigated EL/PL and Motor claims in the Court of Session and the All-Scotland Personal Injury Sheriff Court, under supervision
• Applying strong technical knowledge of litigation, case law and legal principles
• Building and maintaining relationships with key clients
• Ensuring delivery against SLAs and best practice standards
• Supporting and taking ownership on complex, high-value cases
• Continuously developing your technical and commercial expertise
• Help coach, mentor and develop more junior members of the team
