Job Description

Checkout.com is actively looking for a driven and agile Senior Associate, Finance Risk and Controls to join our growing Finance team.

Working as part of our Finance function, you'll be a key player partnering with Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to document, review, and assess the end-to-end flows for our products, to address the risks associated with financial reporting. Evolving in a high-pace and multifaceted environment, meticulous attention to detail will be key.

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, laser-focused, and highly organized individual, not shying away from a high volume of work. You must be a team player when it comes to getting the job done and assisting wherever you can.

How you'll make an impact

• Assist in the identification, assessment, and documentation of financial risks across various business units.
• Support activities to document, challenge, and build an end-to-end view of our customer flow control environment to illustrate key risks, controls, and processes that impact group financial statements.
• Complete testing to independently assess controls to identify gaps and implement remediation plans.
• Work with the Finance Risk and Controls Leads to agree on the identified gaps and suggestions for improvement.
• Partner with finance and non-finance teams to address risks and controls related to financial reporting, building strong relationships across the organization.
• Work closely with finance teams to help guide and deliver on control design improvements, leveraging automation where possible.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial controls and processes.
• Keep track of Finance Risk and Control findings and monitor the progress of audit actions to ensure timely completion and effective risk mitigation.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

• A professional finance qualification such as the ACA or equivalent with at least 4 years post-qualification experience.
• Eagerness to learn more about Fintechs and the inner workings of an organization dealing with high-volume transactions.
• Experience managing audit fieldwork, preferably within Financial services, including being the key client contact managing queries across engagements.
• The ability to proactively resolve complex issues and take responsibility for problem-solving.
• An understanding of balancing risk and controls to support business growth.
• Ability to work well in a multinational team environment and influence others.
• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of how a Fintech and a fast-growing scale-up operate.
