Job summary

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking a Senior Assistant Technical Officer to support the Pharmacy Technical Services department. The role focuses on preparing CIVAS, Cytotoxics, Monoclonal antibodies and clinical trials for adults and paediatrics.

The post involves supervising ATOs and trainee pharmacists, with hospital aseptic experience and potential NVQ Level 2 progression. This is a full-time, permanent position within an NHS trust in inner London.

Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person with good interpersonal and organisational skills who will enjoy being a senior part of this friendly, dynamic team.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to support the Pharmacy Technical Services department, preparing CIVAS, Cytotoxics, Monoclonal antibodies and clinical trials for adults and paediatrics.

Main duties of the job

The post holder duties will include the supervision and training of ATO’s, Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians and Pre-registration pharmacists.
The candidate must have hospital Aseptic experience and be prepared to work towards the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent if they do not already possess this.

The post includes supervisory responsibilities e.g., in-process checking, ensuring daily and weekly tasks are complete, assisting the Technician in running the day-to-day services. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to work with some degree of autonomy and possess both manual and mental dexterity. The physical aspects of the work do involve some prolonged periods of sitting, walking & standing.

The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and enjoy both an individual challenge and working as part of a dynamic team.
