Job summary

St George's University Hospitals is seeking a senior member of the Pharmacy Technical Services team to supervise and train ATOs, Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians and Pre-registration Pharmacists. Hospital aseptic experience is required and NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent is encouraged.

The post involves in-process checking, daily/weekly task oversight, and running the day-to-day services with a degree of autonomy. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person with good interpersonal and organisational skills who will enjoy being a senior part of this friendly, dynamic team.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to support the Pharmacy Technical Services department, preparing CIVAS, Cytotoxics, Monoclonal antibodies and clinical trials for adults and paediatrics.

The post holder duties will include the supervision and training of ATO's, Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians and Pre-registration pharmacists.The candidate must have hospital Aseptic experience and be prepared to work towards the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent if they do not already possess this.

The post includes supervisory responsibilities e.g., in-process checking, ensuring daily and weekly tasks are complete, assisting the Technician in running the day-to-day services. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to work with some degree of autonomy and possess both manual and mental dexterity. The physical aspects of the work do involve some prolonged periods of sitting, walking & standing.

The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and enjoy both an individual challenge and working as part of a dynamic team.
