Job summary

Purcell Architecture in Cambridge seeks an Experienced Architect or Senior Architect to join our hybrid team. You will lead design and technical delivery across projects at all RIBA stages, working with clients, colleagues and consultants to achieve excellent architecture and heritage outcomes.

The role requires a minimum of five years post-qualification experience, strong detailing, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of post-qualification experience as Project Architect or Technologist for a UK-based practice.
RIBA/ARB or CIAT qualification or equivalent.
Excellent technical and detailing skills.
Strong understanding of UK Building and Planning regulations.
Experience across all RIBA stages, particularly 3-7.
Experience using and/or managing others with AutoCAD, Revit and NBS software.

Responsibilities

Drive creative design proposals across projects.
Program and plan technical design packages, defining outputs and deliverables.
Lead day-to-day execution and management of projects to deliver design, client satisfaction and financial outcomes.
Report to team leader and studio leadership.
Coordinate with design professionals within a multi-disciplinary team.
Maintain regular communication with clients and stakeholders.
Undertake technical design reviews and share lessons learned.
Line manage up to three people.
Contribute to an inclusive, creative team culture.
