Job summary

Capital One UK in London is seeking a Lead Android Engineer to drive mobile platforms. You will lead multiple mobile engineering teams and own our fully native apps, working in a hybrid model with three in-office days (Tue-Thu) and two remote days.

We value problem solvers who can design scalable architectures using Kotlin and Java, Android Toolset, and testing frameworks like JUnit and Espresso, with AWS cloud for orchestration and improvement.

Qualifications

• Kotlin and Java for writing well-factored, well-tested code in both the Android app and backend orchestration services.
• Android Toolset, including Android Studio, to leverage the Android platform on a large enterprise scale.
• Testing Frameworks, using JUnit, Espresso, and advocating for approaches like Pair Programming, TDD, and BDD.
• AWS, utilizing cloud opportunities to maximize inner-sourcing and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Set pace for multiple mobile engineering teams and own fully native mobile apps.
• Coordinate with product, design and other disciplines to deliver high-quality mobile experiences.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
