Capital One Europe in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple engineering teams, drive platform strategy and collaborate closely with product and design to deliver customer-centric features. The role emphasizes mentorship, architectural stewardship, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

You will work in a hybrid London office setup with three in-office days and two remote days, shaping a high-performing culture and talent growth across engineering

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading multi-team engineering groups.
• Experience balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform goals.
• Strong communication across product, design and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support a cross-functional group of multiple engineering teams to design and deliver software features for credit card consumers.
• Coach and mentor engineering managers to build empowered teams.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers on the roadmap for key business goals.
• Provide stewardship of the platform and capabilities owned by the teams.
• Help define best practices and evolve engineering culture within the leadership team.
• Lead culture development and drive change across the organization.
