Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a Product and Systems Security Engineer to embed security across complex airborne mission systems and safety-critical platforms. You will work with systems, software, hardware, safety and certification teams to identify risks and deliver robust security solutions.

The role focuses on threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, and developing security architectures for accreditation, with opportunities to influence next-generation combat-air capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in product security, systems security, cyber-security engineering or security assurance within a complex engineering environment.
• Knowledge of Secure by Design principles and relevant product and systems security standards.
• Experience undertaking security risk assessments, threat modelling, vulnerability analysis or security requirements development.
• Ability to interpret technical designs and communicate security risks and mitigations to multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience producing clear technical documentation and security assurance evidence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain security requirements for complex airborne electronic and mission-computing systems.
• Undertake threat modelling, vulnerability analysis and security risk assessments throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Support the development of security architectures and secure-by-design solutions.
• Produce the security evidence, documentation and assurance arguments needed to support accreditation.
• Work closely with systems, software, hardware, safety and certification engineers to embed security in the overall product design.
• Review proposed designs and identify security weaknesses, risks and mitigations.
• Engage with customers, partners and internal engineering teams on product-security requirements.
