Job summary

General Dynamics UK is seeking a highly skilled security engineer to own the product-security architecture for complex airborne mission systems. You will embed security into the engineering lifecycle and lead risk assessments, threat modelling and accreditation activities across the GCAP programme.

You will work with systems, software, hardware and safety specialists, providing technical guidance and assurance to customers and partners while balancing operational capability with technical risk.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading product- or systems-security architecture for complex engineered products.
• Knowledge of Secure by Design principles and safety-critical environments.
• Strong experience defining security requirements at system or product level.
• Experience leading threat modelling, security risk assessment and vulnerability analyses.
• Experience providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent in engineering, CS, cyber security or related.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the product-security architecture for complex airborne mission systems.
• Define the security strategy, requirements and secure-by-design approach across the programme lifecycle.
• Lead threat modelling, vulnerability analysis, security risk assessment and accreditation activities.
• Provide technical authority and informed security advice across systems, software and hardware engineering.
• Make proportionate security decisions balancing operational capability and risk.
• Engage with customers, programme partners and assurance stakeholders.
• Review security evidence and ensure designs and mitigations meet assurance outcomes.
• Coach and guide security and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
