Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems in Hastings is seeking a security engineering specialist to embed security into complex airborne mission systems as part of the GCAP programme. You will develop security requirements, conduct threat modelling and risk assessments, and produce assurance evidence for accreditation.

Qualifications

• Experience in product security, systems security, cyber-security engineering or security assurance within a complex engineering environment.
• Knowledge of Secure by Design principles and standards, with embedding security throughout an engineering lifecycle.
• Experience in security risk assessments, threat modelling, vulnerability analysis or security requirements development.
• Ability to interpret technical designs and communicate security risks and mitigations to multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience producing clear technical documentation and security assurance evidence.
• Degree-level qualification in engineering, computer science, cyber security or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain security requirements for complex airborne electronic and mission-computing systems.
• Undertake threat modelling, vulnerability analysis and security risk assessments across the lifecycle.
• Support development of security architectures and secure-by-design solutions.
• Produce security evidence and assurance arguments to support accreditation.
• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, safety and certification engineers to embed security in design.
• Review designs to identify security weaknesses and propose mitigations.
• Engage with customers, partners and internal teams on product-security requirements and decisions.
• Contribute to development of technologies for future combat-air capability.
