Job summary

General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited is seeking a product and systems security engineer to join the GCAP programme in Hastings. You will embed security into airborne mission systems across the engineering lifecycle and work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver robust security solutions.

The role focuses on threat modelling, security requirements, and accreditation support, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement across office and home-based hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in product security, systems security, cyber-security engineering or security assurance within a complex engineering environment.
• Knowledge of Secure by Design principles and relevant product and systems security standards, with experience embedding security throughout an engineering lifecycle.
• Experience undertaking security risk assessments, threat modelling, vulnerability analysis or security requirements development.
• Ability to interpret technical designs and communicate security risks and mitigations to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience producing clear technical documentation and security assurance evidence.
• Degree-level qualification in engineering, computer science, cyber security or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain security requirements for complex airborne electronic and mission-computing systems.
• Undertake threat modelling, vulnerability analysis and security risk assessments throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Support the development of security architectures and secure-by-design solutions.
• Produce the security evidence, documentation and assurance arguments needed to support accreditation.
• Work closely with systems, software, hardware, safety and certification engineers to ensure security is embedded within the overall product design.
• Review proposed designs and identify security weaknesses, risks and proportionate mitigations.
• Engage with customers, partners and internal engineering teams on product-security requirements and technical decisions.
• Contribute to the development of technologies that will support future combat-air capability.
