Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to own AI-powered software initiatives from discovery to production. You will design and build intelligent systems with large language models, expose capabilities via APIs and microservices, and operate across a multi-cloud environment.

You will mentor engineers and drive excellence in code quality, testing, and reliability, leveraging Python, API design, Terraform, and Kubernetes to deliver scalable production-grade solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering end-to-end software with minimal supervision.
• Strong Python production-grade services, testing, packaging, and maintainability.
• Experience building AI solutions in production with LLMs, observability, and cost control.
• Hands-on API and microservices engineering with security, performance, and reliability focus.
• Multi-cloud experience (AWS preferred) and Terraform-based infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery from requirements to production support.
• Design AI solutions using large language models and agent patterns with prompting and tool calling.
• Build guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and monitoring pipelines for LLM systems.
• Design and operate REST and gRPC APIs and microservices with OpenAPI/Protobuf contracts.
• Apply resilience patterns (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers) for reliability.
• Develop Python services with strong packaging, dependencies, and standards.
• Own data design, schema design, and optimized SQL in production environments.
• Build and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and Kubernetes CI/CD.
• Drive engineering excellence in code quality, testing, performance, and operations.
• Mentor engineers and establish delivery standards and practices.
• Promote enterprise AI-assisted development while ensuring secure, compliant usage.
