Job summary

A&O Shearman in London or Belfast seeks a Senior AI Engineer (Manager) to lead AI strategy and delivery across the IT/EA & Technology Platforms team. You will guide model development, deployment, and integration, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with external providers.

The role requires strong ML/DL expertise, hands-on development, and experience managing large global teams and stakeholder relationships to deliver scalable AI solutions aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in ML/DL model development.
• Strong software development skills across Python, R or C#.
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proven project and program management capabilities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience leading large global teams.

Responsibilities

• Define AI strategy and oversee design and deployment of AI use cases.
• Lead a team of IT professionals and coordinate with external providers.
• Ensure end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions from development to deployment.
• Maintain scalable architecture and alignment with best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement and measure business value of AI solutions.
• Report to AI Platform Owner and participate in leadership team.
