Job summary

A&O Shearman is seeking a Senior AI Engineer (Manager) to lead the AI Platform strategy and delivery across our IT group. Based in Belfast or London, you will drive advanced AI/ML use cases, manage a global team, and coordinate with external providers to scale AI initiatives.

You will guide design, development, and deployment of AI solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices and business outcomes for fee earners and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• Experience in machine learning, deep learning, and AI model development.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or C# programming.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience leveraging AI code-writing assistants with proper controls.
• Strong IT strategic planning and operations knowledge.
• Proven project and program management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of advanced AI/ML use cases across the firm.
• Manage and motivate a team of IT professionals and external service providers.
• Oversee full AI lifecycle from model development to deployment and integration.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with fee earners and business teams.
• Define and operate the firm’s technical AI strategy with scalable architecture.
