Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer at Senior VP level within the International Private Bank Technology AIML team in the UK. You will design and own the platform, tooling, and infrastructure that our agentic AI and ML products depend on.

As the team scales, you will set engineering standards for deployment, scalability, security and reliability, mentor engineers, and drive production readiness. This role reports to the Head of AI, IPB Tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Advanced Python and infrastructure-as-code skills.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native deployment.

Responsibilities

• Owns design and build of the platform, deployment pipelines, model serving, containerisation, orchestration, and environment management.
• Sets reliability, observability, and operational excellence across production AI/ML services.
• Develops tooling and pathways for safe, rapid delivery of agentic AI/ML products.
• Implements platform security, secrets management, and access controls to firm-wide standards.
• Collaborates with data/AI engineers to productionise models and coordinates with infra functions to reduce risk.
• Manages capacity, cost, and performance for compute/inference workloads.
• Mentors engineers and enforces engineering standards through reviews.
• Advocates for diversity, inclusion, and respect in the firm.
