Edmund Optics Ltd. is seeking a Senior E-commerce Backend Engineer: AI Native to design, build, and extend backend services powering our modular e‑commerce platform.

You will connect personalization, semantic and LLM-enabled search, DAM, PIM, and SAP/HANA integrations, delivering scalable APIs and data flows. The role requires 7+ years in backend/API work, strong engineering judgment, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced AI-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience, backend/API/systems integration.
• Experience with SAP/HANA data and integration patterns.
• Experience using AI-assisted development workflows in real software projects.
• Strong backend engineering, API design, and integration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and extend backend services and APIs for modular e‑commerce.
• Integrate personalization, semantic/LLM search, DAM, PIM, and SAP/HANA systems.
• Develop scalable, secure APIs and data flows for internal and partner use.
• Apply AI coding agents within a professional software workflow.
• Collaborate with frontend, data, and vendor teams to deliver solutions.
