Edmund Optics Ltd. is seeking a Senior E-commerce Backend Engineer: AI Native to build and extend the backend services powering our modular e-commerce platform.

You will connect personalization, AI-driven search, DAM, PIM, and SAP/HANA systems through robust APIs and integration layers. You will apply an AI-native development mindset, using AI coding agents alongside traditional engineering practices to write, refactor, test, and document production code while ensuring security and reliability

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with backend, API, or systems integration.
• Experience with SAP and SAP HANA data and integration patterns.
• Fluency in English and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and extend backend services and APIs for a modular e-commerce platform.
• Integrate personalization, semantic search, DAM, PIM, and ERP systems into the architecture.
• Develop AI-native development workflows and validate AI-generated code for quality and security.
• Collaborate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to deliver production solutions.
• Ensure observability, performance, and reliability across services.
