Job summary

Capgemini UK is seeking an experienced AI engineering lead to design, build and ship agentic AI applications on Microsoft Azure for clients in regulated sectors. This hands-on role sits in a product-aligned team, taking a solution from design through production and into operations.

You will work across retail, utilities, manufacturing, transport, health and public sector, rapidly picking up domains and delivering production-grade services with guardrails, governance and observability.

Qualifications

• Production experience building LLM-based applications on Azure that went live and were supported.
• Strong production coding in Python and/or C#/.NET, with API and backend service integration.
• Practical depth in retrieval-augmented generation, including chunking, embedding, tuning, and groundedness checks.
• Client-facing delivery experience, able to explain trade-offs to non-engineers.

Responsibilities

• Delivery and technical leadership across architecture and client stakeholders.
• Own solutions end-to-end from design through production support.
• Explain AI trade-offs and risk clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Ensure compliance, auditability, and governance in regulated environments.
• Mentor and pair with less experienced colleagues.
