Job summary

Capgemini UK is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to design, build and ship agentic AI applications on Microsoft Azure for clients in regulated sectors. You will lead across the full lifecycle, from design to live production, ensuring governance and auditability.

You will work with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search and related services, delivering production-grade APIs in Python and C#/.NET while mentoring colleagues and aligning with client needs and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Production experience building LLM-based applications on Azure that went live and were supported.
• Strong production coding in Python and/or C#/.NET, including building and integrating APIs and backend services.
• Depth in retrieval-augmented generation: chunking, embedding, retrieval tuning and groundedness evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and lead technically across the full lifecycle from design through production support.
• Explain AI trade-offs and risk to non-technical stakeholders in regulated contexts.
• Mentor and pair with less experienced colleagues; ensure guardrails and governance are in place.
