Job summary

RES is seeking a Senior Lead - AI Engineer to design, build and run LLM and agent services on our global data and AI platform. This hands-on role spends most time building, creating AI workflows that integrate with finance, construction, project, development and HR data.

Reporting to the Head of Data and AI Analytics, you will collaborate with data engineers, modellers and analysts, setting AI engineering standards and shaping how AI develops at RES, including security by design and cost-aware

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building LLM solutions in Python with RAG and agent frameworks.
• Experience taking AI into production and building scalable AI services.
• Strong software engineering skills: modular, tested code, REST APIs, CI/CD.
• Experience with Azure AI services or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Ability to evaluate and operate LLMs including latency, cost and quality.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/Data science or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Build AI services: design, code and deploy LLM and RAG services, agents and workflows.
• Set up automated evaluation and quality gates before release.
• Define reference designs and reusable AI patterns aligned with data platform standards.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts on enterprise data for AI.
• Set coding standards for Python and LLM orchestration; create reusable code.
• Design for cost efficiency, token use and caching; manage security by design.
• Prototype new AI technologies and bring proven ones into use.
• Coach team members and guide stakeholders on AI options and trade-offs.
