Job summary

RES is seeking a Senior Lead - AI Engineer to design, build and run the LLM and agent services on our global data and AI platform. This hands-on role ensures at least 70% of time is spent building across diverse domains such as finance, construction and HR data.

Reporting to the Head of Data and AI Analytics, you will set AI engineering standards, collaborate with data engineers and analysts, and drive scalable, secure AI solutions in a cloud-first environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building LLM solutions in Python with RAG and agent frameworks.
• Experience deploying AI in production and building REST APIs.
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry / OpenAI / Azure AI Search or equivalent.
• Testing, monitoring, and cost optimization for LLMs.
• Security for LLMs and agent systems, including prompt injection guardrails.
• Strong communication to explain options to stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build AI services: design, code and deploy LLMs, RAG services, agents and multi-agent workflows.
• Set up automated evaluation and quality gates before release.
• Define AI architecture and reusable patterns aligned with data platform standards.
• Work with modellers to structure enterprise data for AI search and reasoning.
• Set coding standards for Python and LLM orchestration; promote reusable code.
• Design for cost-efficient token use and compute.
• Collaborate on security by design with Cyber Security and governance teams.
• Explore emerging AI tech and prototype proven options for production.
• Coach team members and advise stakeholders on AI trade-offs.
