Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Senior Python Developer focused on GenAI to build production-grade AI-powered applications. You’ll craft APIs and services in Python, work with LLMs and AI agents, and scale GenAI POCs into enterprise solutions.

In this hybrid role, you’ll split time between hands-on coding and collaboration with clients, architects and engineers, using FastAPI, vector databases and cloud platforms to deliver robust, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Senior Python developer with leadership experience
• Hands-on experience building production APIs
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs and RAG
• Experience with AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph or CrewAI)
• Knowledge of vector databases and semantic search
• Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama or similar
• Good software engineering, testing and Git practices
• Experience with AWS or Azure, Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB or similar databases
• Experience with CI/CD (GitHub/GitLab/Jenkins)
• Agile engineering experience
• Knowledge of AI agents, tool calling, embeddings, prompt engineering or LLM observability (beneficial)
• React/TypeScript and Terraform/IaC (beneficial)
• Experience taking GenAI POCs into production (highly beneficial)

Senior Python Developer - GenAI

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 plus benefits, perks and healthcare options

Locations: London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow or Newcastle

Job Type: Permanent | Hybrid / 2 days per week onsite | Occasional travel to client sites

The Role

We're looking for hands-on Python Developers at Senior level who have experience building software and a practical understanding of Generative AI, LLMs and RAG. This is a coding-focused role for engineers who enjoy building real solutions. You'll use Python as your primary development, developing APIs, services and AI applications using technologies such as LLMs, RAG, AI agents and vector search. You'll work across the development lifecycle, helping take GenAI ideas and POC's through to robust, production-ready applications for enterprise clients.

• Proven leadership and mentoring experience required for Senior Consultant level.


• Strong commercial Python development experience


• Experience building APIs, microservices and backend applications


• Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI and RAG


• Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or CrewAI


• Experience with vector databases and semantic search


• Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama or similar


• Good software engineering, testing and Git practices


• Experience with AWS or Azure, Docker and ideally Kubernetes


• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB or similar databases
