Job summary

83zero Ltd seeks a hands-on Python Developer at Consultant level to build production GenAI applications, APIs and AI integrations using Python, FastAPI and modern AI frameworks. You’ll work on LLM, RAG and AI agent solutions, deploying across AWS/Azure, Docker and Kubernetes for enterprise clients.

You’ll collaborate with engineers and client stakeholders, taking GenAI POCs through to production. This is a hybrid role with 2 days onsite in the UK.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development with commercial experience.
• API, microservices and backend app experience.

Python Developer - GenAI

• Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 plus benefits, perks and healthcare options
• Locations: London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow or Newcastle
• Job Type: Permanent | Hybrid / 2 days per week onsite | Occasional travel to client sites
• Requirements: SC eligibility & full right to work in the UK required (no sponsorship available)

The Role:

We're looking for hands-on Python Developers at Consultant level who have experience building software and a practical understanding of Generative AI, LLMs and RAG. This is a coding-focused role for engineers who enjoy building real solutions. You'll use Python as your primary development language, developing APIs, services and AI applications using technologies such as LLMs, RAG, AI agents and vector search. You'll work across the development lifecycle, helping take GenAI ideas and POC's through to robust, production-ready applications for enterprise clients.

What you'll be doing:

• Build production applications and APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Develop LLM, RAG and AI agent solutions
• Build RAG pipelines covering embeddings, retrieval and generation
• Work with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama and similar LLMs
• Use LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or similar AI frameworks
• Work with vector databases including Pinecone, Qdrant, ChromaDB and PGVector
• Take GenAI POCs into production and scale them
• Build APIs, microservices and AI integrations
• Deploy solutions using AWS/Azure, Docker and Kubernetes
• Write clean, testable and maintainable Python code
• Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Git and CI/CD
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and client stakeholders

What we’re looking for:

• Strong commercial Python development experience
• Experience building APIs, microservices and backend applications
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI and RAG
• Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or CrewAI
• Experience with vector databases and semantic search
• Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama or similar
• Good software engineering, testing and Git practices
• Experience with AWS or Azure, Docker and ideally Kubernetes
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB or similar databases
• Experience with CI/CD using GitHub, GitLab or Jenkins
• Agile engineering experience
• Experience with AI agents, tool calling, embeddings, prompt engineering or LLM observability is beneficial
• React/TypeScript and Terraform/IaC experience is beneficial
• Experience taking GenAI POCs into production is highly beneficial
