Job summary

Medtronic Digital Technologies in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer to design, implement and optimize ML models for low-latency edge and cloud deployment in surgical imaging.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to benchmark networks, refine architectures, and build production pipelines that process real-time surgical videos, delivering high-quality code and results.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Vision or Machine Learning or related field.
• Proven ability to design and build computer vision networks using PyTorch.
• Experience with AI optimization tools such as TensorRT.
• Strong Python skills and numerical libraries (NumPy, scikit-learn, OpenCV).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of computer vision concepts.

Responsibilities

• Benchmarking and optimizing network architectures and their latency across target platforms.
• Redesigning/optimizing networks to improve forward flow and reduce latency.
• Developing production pipelines in cloud or edge devices to process surgical videos in real-time with optimized models.
• Delivering high-quality, well-written code.
• Sharing results during regular team meetings.
• Staying updated with state-of-the-art methods and pursuing research ideas.
