NearTech Search is seeking an experienced Senior AI/ML Engineer with a focus on Computer Vision to design, build and deploy advanced AI technologies for defence and security applications. You will work on CNNs, Vision Transformers and eDNNs, translating research into robust software for demanding environments.

You will collaborate with software engineers, researchers and leadership to influence AI platform architecture and deliver customer-ready solutions across edge and cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD in Computer Vision, AI, ML or robotics is desirable.
• Equivalent commercial experience developing advanced AI systems will be considered.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop and optimise advanced Computer Vision algorithms using CNNs, Vision Transformers and related deep learning architectures.
• Develop novel neural network architectures, training strategies, loss functions, optimisation techniques and evaluation metrics for challenging problems.
• Translate state-of-the-art AI research into robust, production-ready software.
• Build scalable training, validation, evaluation and inference pipelines.
• Optimise models for accuracy, robustness, latency and deployment across edge and cloud platforms.
• Contribute to the development and evolution of enhanced Deep Neural Network capabilities.
• Deliver customer solutions for defence and other high-performance applications.
• Contribute to technical planning, software architecture and engineering best practices.
• Support technical discussions with customers and collaborate with commercial teams where appropriate.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, production-quality AI systems.
