Job summary

Medtronic plc is seeking a Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer to optimize ML models for low latency on edge and cloud devices. You will design, implement, and iterate production pipelines processing surgical videos in real time, collaborating with ML, platform, and embedded teams.

The role emphasizes advanced CV/ML techniques, fast prototyping, and strong communication across diverse stakeholders in a global healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Math, CV/ML or related field.
• Proven ability to design and build CV networks using PyTorch.
• Knowledge of optimization methods (pruning, sparsity, quantization).
• Experience with AI optimization tools (TensorRT).
• Strong Python and numerical library skills (NumPy, OpenCV, scikit-learn).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and CV basics.

Responsibilities

• Benchmark and optimize network architectures for latency on target platforms.
• Redesign networks to improve forward flow and reduce latency.
• Develop production pipelines in cloud or edge devices for real-time video.
• Deliver high-quality, well-documented code.
• Share results in regular team meetings and reviews.
• Stay updated with state-of-the-art methods and research ideas.
