Job summary

Haven is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Technology team, shaping how we design, build and evolve the digital products behind memorable holidays for millions of guests. The role is remote-first, based from home with occasional visits to our Hemel Hempstead head office and Haven parks.

Qualifications

• Experience as a software engineer in a similar environment.
• Proficient in one of C#, Dart or TypeScript.
• Proficient in one of .NET, Flutter, React or Node.js.
• Experience with AI-enabled software engineering and tooling.
• Solid design principles (SOLID, Clean Code) and testing (TDD).
• Knowledge of HTTP, REST, HTML/CSS and relational databases.
• Understanding of requirements engineering, stories and acceptance criteria.
• Familiar with Agile, Lean, OKRs, CI/CD, logging and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of AWS or Azure, DevOps and security (OWASP Top 10).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Curious, pragmatic mindset balancing quality and pace.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver well-crafted, tested and maintainable solutions across our digital estate.
• Leverage AI capabilities throughout the engineering lifecycle, evolving practices as tools develop.
• Act as technical go-to for your squad with a near-complete understanding of your systems.
• Define the approach to features and drive them through to completion.
• Engage in product and engineering ceremonies, sharing ideas and challenging assumptions.
• Support and enable junior engineers through mentoring.
• Drive continual improvement within your squad and the wider team.
• Communicate progress, blockers and ideas clearly and openly.
• Simplify and continually improve Haven's digital estate.
• Pursue personal development with internal tools and opportunities.
