LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions (LNIP) within RELX is seeking an AI Architect to be the technical authority for Protégé in PatentSight+. You will shape the AI stack across the full spectrum, from the agentic layer down to deployments, ensuring coherence, scalability, security, and compliance with RELX Responsible AI standards.

This senior role is a hands-on IC position, partnering with Engineering Leads, Product Managers and Data Scientists to translate product goals into durable

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering with AI/ML architecture experience.
• Proven track record delivering production LLM systems (RAG, agents).
• Python proficiency; C# or similar for microservices.
• Experience with vector DBs and semantic search pipelines.
• Familiar with MCP and large-scale data platforms (Databricks, Elasticsearch).

Responsibilities

• Define and own the AI architecture vision for Protégé in PatentSight+.
• Evaluate AI technologies, modelling approaches, and platform components.
• Stay up to date with agentic AI advances and translate into architecture.
• Author ADRs and system design documentation with rationale.
• Architect agentic reasoning to decomposes complex patent questions.
• Design retrieval and search architectures for patent data.
• Define patterns for AI-driven enrichment and classification at scale.
• Establish prompt engineering standards and quality frameworks.
• Collaborate with PMs to shape AI roadmap and feasibility.
• Work with Security and Platform teams for compliance and governance.
