Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Aerospace Engineering Team in Fareham. This permanent, site–based role focuses on avionics, engine sensors, and full product lifecycle development.

You will lead mechanical design activities, validate requirements, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality aerospace solutions. The role offers hybrid flexibility and progression in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Design or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience writing and validating engineering requirements per standards.
• Strong design verification methods knowledge and reporting ability.
• Proven leadership in coordinating mechanical engineering teams.
• Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement structured mechanical solutions meeting requirements and regulations.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and cross‑disciplinary teams.
• Manage and validate mechanical requirements and ensure compliance.
• Verify designs via testing, inspection and analysis.
• Prepare work estimates and plans for project managers and track progress.
• Support product introduction, improvement and operations in cross‑functional teams.
• Provide technical leadership and coordinate resources.
• Mentor apprentices and junior engineers.
• Drive mechanical process improvements under aerospace standards.
