Job Description:

This role is based at Blantyre Health Centre within the Specialist Palliative Care Service covering NHS Lanarkshire. The Senior Advanced Practitioner will provide advanced clinical care and management for both stable and acutely unwell patients and their families, making autonomous, complex decisions using expert skills and knowledge.

The post involves assessing care needs, delivering advanced care, and acting within professional boundaries to provide comprehensive patient care from history taking to diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation. The role requires competence across all four pillars of advanced practice and autonomous decision-making.

The successful candidate will manage assessment, examination, diagnosis, management, and treatment initiation for adults.

What you'll need to bring:

  • Registered Nurse / AHP or Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC/GPhC registration.
  • Post Graduate Diploma (Masters) in Advanced Practice, with evidence of completing the final module or research dissertation.
  • Independent prescriber.
  • Knowledge of NHS Scotland leadership qualities or equivalent.
  • Management experience and continuous professional development.
  • Experience in facilitating learning and teaching.
  • Leadership and managerial experience within your specialty.
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards.
  • Experience in assessing training needs and resource management.
  • Ability to analyze needs assessment data and lead teams strategically.
  • Experience with advanced practitioner programs and competency development.
  • Proficiency in information technology.
  • A full, valid UK/EU/EEA driver's license.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced specialty knowledge and experience relevant to the practice area, capable of providing leadership within the specialty.

Contract details:

Permanent, Full-time (37 hours/week).

Location and working pattern:

Based at Blantyre Health Centre within Specialist Palliative Care. Working pattern: Monday to Sunday.
