Job summary

Howden is seeking a Senior Consulting Actuary to join its Insurance Actuarial & Longevity (IAL) team. The role focuses on life insurance capital and risk management, offering opportunities to lead complex client projects and mentor junior colleagues.

You will work with colleagues to deliver regulatory, capital and risk solutions for life insurers and clients in a dynamic market. You will help modernise actuarial processes through digital tools and innovative modelling techniques while developing

Qualifications

• Actuary with 3+ years post-qualification experience in life insurer or consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of Solvency II and Solvency UK regulatory frameworks.
• Experience developing, reviewing or validating risk-based capital models and calibration methodologies.
• Knowledge of capital management and risk management frameworks within life insurance.
• Programming experience in Python or R advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver client projects across capital, risk and regulatory consulting engagements.
• Support life insurance clients with risk-based capital modelling and capital management activities.
• Work on regulatory applications, business transfer projects and M&A-related assignments.
• Modernise actuarial processes through digital tools and innovative modelling techniques.
• Build relationships with client stakeholders and act as a trusted adviser.
• Develop project scopes and manage delivery timelines for high-quality outcomes.
• Contribute to thought leadership and development of new client propositions.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities and market presence.
• Develop a professional network across the life insurance sector.
