Job summary

Howden is seeking an Actuarial Consultant to join our team in the UK. This role suits a recently qualified actuary, or a part-qualified actuary with 3-4+ years’ experience, potentially moving toward Scheme Actuary or Corporate Actuary positions.

DB pensions experience is essential. You will perform complex member calculations, contribute to actuarial valuations, review client reports, and work with senior team members to deliver pragmatic, regulatory-compliant advice to trustees and employers.

Qualifications

• DB pensions experience is essential.
• Actuarial qualifications FIA/FAA or in training toward FIA/FAA, part-qualified with progress through exams.
• Good IT skills and presentation skills.
• DB pensions experience or a solid understanding of the basics of pensions.

Responsibilities

• Calculate complex member calculations and progress to checking more complex ones.
• Undertake the bulk of calculations for an actuarial valuation.
• Review client reports and advice, and draft member communications.
• Collaborate with Client Account Manager to understand client objectives.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to client projects with senior team.
• Support the corporate team across pensions-related areas.
