Job summary

Howden is seeking a Consulting Actuary to join our Actuarial Consulting team in the UK. The role supports trustees and employers with advisory services across pensions, de-risking, longevity, and legislative changes, with progression toward Partner.

You will develop a portfolio of appointments, possibly lead a team, and liaise with Partners to set priorities. Excellent progression opportunities exist within a growing global business.

Qualifications

• Fellowship FIA/FAA or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience leading a team and excellent people management skills.
• Project management and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and good networking skills.
• Ability to take forward new ideas.

Responsibilities

• Client Consulting: act as main contact, providing advice for a range of clients.
• Assist Partners in managing client relationships and resolving issues quickly.
• Attend client meetings and identify ways to help clients and report new initiatives.
• Review draft client reports and advice.
• Use actuarial principles to assess pensions risks and probabilities.
• Peer-review colleagues' work for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify opportunities for new business and assist in tenders, including pitches.
• Lead the actuarial team workload and attend team leader meetings.
• Maintain knowledge of pension issues and advise clients on developments.
• Manage client teams to deliver high-quality work within timescales.
