Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Accredited Clinical Coder to join our Clinical Coding Department. You will provide high-quality, efficient coding, translating complex medical terminology into nationally recognised codes to support patient care, governance, and financial sustainability.

The role requires knowledge of ICD10, OPCS4 and HRG4, ability to train trainees, and experience with PAS/hospital systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level (or significant proven clinical coding qualification).
• Experience with ICD10, OPCS4 and HRG4 coding.
• Excellent IT skills and familiarity with hospital systems.
• Knowledge of information governance and data quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, efficient coding services.
• Translate complex medical terminology into nationally recognised codes.
• Support governance, service planning and financial sustainability through accurate coding.
• Train and supervise trainee clinical-coding staff whenever required.
