Job summary

Butler Rose Public Practice North is assisting a forward-thinking accountancy practice in Chester to recruit a Senior Accountant for a hybrid role. You will work closely with Managers and Directors to deliver high quality accounts, tax planning, and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio.

The ideal candidate will hold ACA or ACCA, have prior practice experience, and enjoy mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification required.
• Previous accountancy practice experience.
• Experience working with owner-managed businesses.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive and client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients, offering tailored advice to improve and streamline accounting processes.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
• Prepare year-end financial statements for a diverse portfolio of businesses.
• Calculate corporation tax and personal tax liabilities while identifying tax planning opportunities.
• Work closely with Managers, Directors, and other service lines to support the overall delivery of client services.
• Develop a detailed understanding of clients businesses to deliver an outstanding client experience.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for client queries and ongoing support.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Accounts Trainees and junior team members.
