Job summary

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well established independent accountancy practice in Rye seeking an Accountant to join their team. The role focuses on accounts work with some tax duties and wider practice tasks, ideal for an Accounts Assistant/Semi Senior looking to step up, or an Accountant seeking autonomous responsibility.

You will work with owner-managed businesses and individuals, gaining exposure to a broad range of general practice tasks including year-end accounts, bookkeeping, VAT

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years' accountancy practice experience.
• AAT Level 3 or Level 4, or equivalent experience
• Good experience in accounts preparation
• Experience with bookkeeping and VAT
• Some exposure to personal and/or corporation tax
• Good communication and client relationship skills
• A genuine interest in developing your career within practice

Responsibilities

• Prepare year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Management accounts and general accounts preparation
• Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
• Preparing VAT returns
• Supporting with personal and corporation tax compliance
• Dealing with general client queries
• Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
• Assisting with other general practice duties as required
• The role is predominantly accounts focused, with the opportunity to develop your wider practice knowledge over time.
