Job summary

TPF Recruitment Ltd is assisting an independent accountancy practice to recruit an Accountant. The role is mainly accounts-focused, with scope to broaden knowledge across tax and wider practice duties over time.

Candidates typically have 2–3 years in practice, are AAT Level 3/4 qualified or have equivalent experience, and will handle year-end accounts, bookkeeping, VAT and client queries with strong relationship skills.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 3 or Level 4, or equivalent experience.
• Good experience in accounts preparation.

Job description

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice with the recruitment of an Accountant to join their team.

This is a varied general practice role, with accounts being the main focus, alongside a smaller element of tax and wider practice duties. It would suit an experienced Accounts Assistant or Semi Senior looking to take the next step, or an Accountant who is already working at a more autonomous level.

The Role

• Preparing year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Management accounts and general accounts preparation
• Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
• Preparing VAT returns
• Supporting with personal and corporation tax compliance
• Dealing with general client queries
• Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
• Assisting with other general practice duties as required

The role is predominantly accounts focused, with the opportunity to develop your wider practice knowledge over time.

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years'+ accountancy practice experience
• AAT Level 3 or Level 4, or equivalent experience
• Good experience in accounts preparation
• Experience with bookkeeping and VAT
• Some exposure to personal and/or corporation tax
• Good communication and client relationship skills
• A genuine interest in developing your career within practice
