Job summary

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well established independent Chartered Accountancy practice in Northfleet with a Senior Practice Accountant role. You will manage a varied portfolio of owner managed businesses, prepare statutory accounts, handle tax returns, bookkeeping and VAT, and work closely with the Partner.

This role offers excellent client exposure and clear progression within the firm. This is a hands-on, client facing position in a friendly firm culture, with opportunities to influence

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification or qualified by experience.
• Experience in UK accountancy practice.
• Strong statutory accounts, tax, bookkeeping, and VAT knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Handle corporation tax and self assessment tax returns.
• Oversee bookkeeping and VAT returns.
• Liaise directly with clients and provide day-to-day advice.
• Support the Partner with client relationships and ad hoc projects.
• Review work and assist with workflow management.
• Meet with clients on a regular basis.

TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established and highly regarded independent Chartered Accountancy practice in Northfleet with the recruitment of a Senior Practice Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and professional firm where you'll work closely with the Partner, taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of owner managed businesses and becoming a key member of the team.

The Role

As a Senior Practice Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a broad range of general practice work, including:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
• Corporation tax and self assessment tax returns
• Bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Liaising directly with clients and providing day to day advice
• Supporting the Partner with client relationships and ad hoc projects
• Reviewing work where appropriate and assisting with workflow management
• This is a varied, hands on role offering plenty of client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with the firm's leadership.
• Meeting with clients on a regular basis

Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping and VAT
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to a close knit team
