Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant in Loughton for a growing top 100 Accountancy Practice. This hands-on role is suited to ambitious accountants, including those who are part qualified or qualified by experience, to manage a portfolio of clients and meet deadlines.

You will prepare statutory accounts, VAT returns, and management accounts, mentor junior staff, and liaise with managers and partners.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA; candidates qualified by experience considered.
• Minimum of 5 years' accountancy practice experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Strong IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities, and groups.
• Produce and review VAT returns, bookkeeping and management accounts.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.
• Manage client assignments within budgets and deadlines.
• Liaise with managers, partners and the Tax team to resolve queries.
• Maintain time records and CPD compliance.

Working Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm

A fantastic opening is available within a growing top 100 Accountancy Practice, for a Senior/Semi Senior Accountant. This role is well suited to ambitious accountants looking to grow their career, who might be part qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience

This practice boast a diverse clientele across a multitude of sectors, and this position is
crucial to maintaining excellent client relationships and standards. This is a hands on role
within a portfolio of clients, meeting deadlines, and providing an excellent service

Senior Accountant Job Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities, and groups.


• Produce and review VAT returns, bookkeeping, management accounts, and outsourced work to ensure accuracy and quality.


• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing feedback and maintaining high performance standards.


• Manage client assignments within budgets and deadlines, resolving review points and delivering high-quality final files.


• Liaise with managers, partners, and the Tax team to resolve queries and identify opportunities for additional client services.


• Maintain accurate time records, comply with CPD requirements, and support the smooth running of the department.

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

• Newly Qualified or Part qualified ACCA/ACA. Candidates qualified by experience can also be considered

Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits

• £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience
