Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Accountant in Camberley to join a growing practice. The role involves handling a portfolio of client accounts, producing statutory accounts, and meeting deadlines in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Ideal candidates are part-qualified or fully qualified with at least four years in practice. Experience with cloud accounting, Xero, QuickBooks, and related software is desired, with commuting to Camberley expected.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
• Proficient in preparing statutory and annual accounts from client records.
• Experience with cloud accounting and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory and annual accounts from records supplied by clients.
• Ensure year-end files are complete with back-up schedules to support balance sheet figures.
• Prepare draft business tax computations.
• Understand key control account postings and reconciliations around income and accruals.
• Prepare year-end accounting files with back-up schedules to support figures.

Location: Camberley
Package: circa GBP40,000, life insurance, 28 days holiday, and more
Working Hours: Full time, Monday–Friday 9am–5:30pm

Senior Accountant Job Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory and annual accounts from records supplied by the client
• Ensure the year end files are complete with back up schedules to support balance sheet figures
• Prepare draft business tax computations
• Understanding of key control account postings and reconciliations/treatments around income, fixed assets, payroll, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare the year end accounting files and ensure they are complete, with back up schedules to support balance sheet figures.

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

• Suited to part qualified, qualified, and part qualified accountants
• Must have a minimum of 4 years experience within Accountancy Practice
• Must be proficient, without training, in the preparation of statutory and annual accounts from records supplied by clients
• Experience in cloud accounting packages, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage L50, excel, and IRIS, is preferable
• Must be able to commute to Camberly
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills

Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits

• Paying GBP35,000 – GBP40,000 (could be more depending on experience)
• 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays. Holiday rising by 1 day with each year of service up to 25 days
