Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant in Loughton. This hands-on role supports a growing top 100 Accountancy Practice, managing a portfolio of clients and meeting deadlines with high-quality service.

Suitable candidates include newly qualified, part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience, with at least five years in practice and strong attention to detail. Hybrid working is available along with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience.
• Minimum of 5 years accountancy practice experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities, and groups.
• Produce and review VAT returns, bookkeeping, management accounts, and outsourced work to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing feedback and maintaining high performance standards.
• Manage client assignments within budgets and deadlines, resolving review points and delivering high-quality final files.
• Liaise with managers, partners, and the Tax team to resolve queries and identify opportunities for additional client services.
• Maintain accurate time records, CPD requirements, and support the smooth running of the department.

Senior Accountant Job Responsibilities

Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits

• £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience
• Some scope for hybrid working
