Job summary

bk plus in Brighouse is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join a friendly team providing accountancy to multiple clients across sectors. You will handle year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, liaise with clients on accounts and tax, and guide junior staff.

You will review junior staff work, manage accounts and self-assessment tax returns, and respond to client queries by phone or email, working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience with Iris, Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
• Extensive tax knowledge of personal and corporate taxation.
• Able to work on own initiative to meet deadlines.
• Friendly and confident manner.
• Able to work as part of a team and alone.
• Must be able to work to tight deadlines and unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Liaising with clients regarding accounts, tax returns and other issues.
• Review of junior accounts staff work and completion for client.
• Management accounts.
• Having a portfolio of self-assessment and partnership tax returns to complete each year.
• Supporting and guiding junior staff.
• Answer ad hoc client queries via telephone/email.

Requirement for the role
