Job Description Summary:

The Senior Account Executive is an enterprise software sales professional who sells a platform of software solutions to Global 1000 clients. This individual understands executive selling into large companies, has outstanding communication skills, and brings current relationships. They proactively prospect and lead meetings with customers weekly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Sell a portfolio of infrastructure and application software that optimizes and modernizes enterprise systems.
  2. Work closely with Field Marketing to develop prospects and events.
  3. Lead sales campaigns with the extended team of Rocket sales engineers, marketing, and lab groups.
  4. Ensure best-in-class customer sales satisfaction and reference-ability with our customers.
  5. Meet revenue targets and strategic objectives, including growing the sales pipeline and creating territory plans.
  6. Use Salesforce diligently and maintain accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales forecasts.
  7. Work with management to negotiate pricing and contact terms.
  8. Serve as a trusted advisor to customer business and IT leaders, shaping opportunities early in the sales cycle and advancing them into profitable revenue growth.
  9. Demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge in aligning the company's capabilities with business and IT priorities, and positioning relative to competitors.
  10. Advocate for customer needs during the sales cycle and address any delivery issues.
  11. Research and understand each customer's industry, business strategies, and challenges.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of sales experience in solution software to Global 1000 clients.
  • Ability to adapt to different situations, with impeccable honesty, integrity, and ethics.
  • Experience working in a sales culture that supports and rewards high achievers.
  • Proactively tackles difficult problems, often with new perspectives.
  • Ability to articulate a vision, influence others, plan and organize resources, and deliver results.
  • Strives to exceed expectations and works independently.
  • Possesses business acumen and experience to navigate large, complex customer accounts with a portfolio of products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record as a top performer selling software solutions to senior executives, with quotas over 2M, involving large transactions.
  • Proactive hunter who creates and qualifies new opportunities and meets customers in person weekly.
  • Experience with complex, multi-year subscription and perpetual license sales.
  • Network of trusted relationships within the designated region.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field.

Travel Requirements:

50% of your time in the field working at tradeshows and meeting with customers/clients.
