Job summary

Safran is recruiting experienced CNC Machinists to support the GDS programme at their Wolverhampton site. You will set up and operate 5-axis turning and milling machines within a cutting-edge precision engineering environment.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years CNC setting and operating experience in a precision engineering/manufacturing setting, with knowledge of 5-axis machines and inspection equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years CNC setting & operating experience.
• Experience in a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of 5-axis machines and inspection equipment.
• Level 3 Qualification i.e. City & Guilds or NVQ (variations of Level 3 qualifications exist).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Desirable Apprentice-trained background.
• Experience with new technology or cell introductions.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust 5-axis turning and milling machines
• Monitor production quality and machine performance
• Work with Manufacturing Engineers on new part introduction
• Follow process layouts, work instructions, and compliance standards
• Support TPM and maintenance activities
• Ensure material flow, tooling availability, and SWIP monitoring
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives
• Adhere to all EHS and safety procedures
