Job summary

Safran is recruiting experienced CNC Machinists to support the GDS programme at their Wolverhampton site. You will set up and operate 5-axis turning and milling machines within a cutting-edge precision engineering environment.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years CNC setting and operating experience in a precision engineering/manufacturing setting, with knowledge of 5-axis machines and inspection equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years CNC setting & operating experience.
Experience in a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of 5-axis machines and inspection equipment.
Level 3 Qualification i.e. City & Guilds or NVQ (variations of Level 3 qualifications exist).
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
Desirable Apprentice-trained background.
Experience with new technology or cell introductions.
Proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and adjust 5-axis turning and milling machines
Monitor production quality and machine performance
Work with Manufacturing Engineers on new part introduction
Follow process layouts, work instructions, and compliance standards
Support TPM and maintenance activities
Ensure material flow, tooling availability, and SWIP monitoring
Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives
Adhere to all EHS and safety procedures

Shift Pattern

Week 1 - Earlies: Monday-Thursday: 6:00am - 1:30pm Friday: 6:00am - 1:00pm
Week 2 - Lates: Monday-Thursday: 1:15pm - 9:00pm Friday: 1:00pm - 7:00pm 37 HOURS PLUS

Pay rates : £26.87 per hour plus £3.91 holiday pay (can opt to accrue holiday pay to ensure payment for 25 days plus 8 days bank holiday / £35.71 per hour Umbrella - please enquire
