Job summary

Fernhurst Primary School is seeking a knowledgeable SENDCo on a 0.4 contract to lead provision for pupils with SEND and ensure high‑quality, inclusive support across the school.

The role collaborates with the Headteacher, staff and families to identify, assess and review needs in line with the SEND Code of Practice, focusing on improving outcomes and inclusion for all pupils.

You will support and advise staff, maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and equality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying and reviewing pupils' SEND needs.
• Ability to coordinate provision and maintain records.
• Strong understanding of inclusive education and safeguarding

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school.
• Ensure compliance with statutory SEND requirements and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate identification, assessment and review of pupils with SEND
• Support and advise staff on inclusive classroom practice and effective interventions
• Monitor the progress and wellbeing of pupils with SEND and evaluate impact
• Liaise effectively with parents/carers and external professionals
• Contribute to safeguarding, equality and inclusion agendas
