Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd. is seeking an experienced SENDCO to lead SEND provision across a Derby primary school.

The role may extend to provide SEND oversight for a nursery, involving coordination of EHCPs, annual reviews and provision maps, and collaborative work with parents, external agencies and local authorities. The successful candidate will hold NASENCO or NPQ for SENCOs (or equivalent) and a QTS or equivalent qualification, with strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and a track

Qualifications

• NASENCO, NPQ for SENCOs or equivalent qualification - essential.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or appropriate professional qualification.
• Experience leading or coordinating SEND provision.
• Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience managing EHCP processes, annual reviews and provision mapping.
• Experience collaborating with parents, external agencies and local authorities.
• Understanding of Early Years SEND advantageous for nursery oversight.
• Ability to lead, advise and develop other staff.
• Willingness to support across Primary and Early Years.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the primary school.
• Oversee identification, assessment and ongoing support of pupils with additional needs.
• Manage and review EHCPs, SEND support plans, provision maps and individual targets.
• Coordinate and contribute to annual reviews and statutory SEND processes.
• Ensure provision meets SEND Code of Practice requirements.
• Monitor pupil progress and evaluate intervention impact.
• Provide guidance and coaching to teachers and TAs.
• Maintain strong communication with parents and carers.
• Liaise with Educational Psychologists, SALT and local authorities.
• Support transitions between Early Years and primary, with nursery oversight possible.
• Contribute to wider school improvement and inclusive practice.
