Job summary

Bristol Metropolitan Academy in Bristol is seeking an exceptional Associate Assistant Principal - SENDCO (Maternity Cover) to join our leadership team. The post holder will lead SEND across the academy, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and driving inclusive teaching to support vulnerable learners.

You will develop staff, contribute to improvement priorities and collaborate with families and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for students.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have substantial experience of leading SEND provision and supporting vulnerable learners.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current statutory guidance.
• Have professional knowledge of what constitutes high-quality teaching, learning and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND across the academy and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
• Oversee provision for vulnerable learners and drive high-quality inclusive teaching.
• Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and external agencies to secure outcomes for students.
• Lead and develop staff, contribute to academy improvement priorities and promote inclusion.
